My Daughter's Princess 4th Birthday Party

By Melissa Basgall, Macaroni Kid Publisher February 7, 2020

Princesses, tiaras, cake, a castle and more! These were the makings of the magical princess party we held last Saturday to celebrate my daughter’s 4th birthday.

When my daughter, Everly, asked me if she could have a princess party, and invite all of her friends from preschool to attend, my initial answer was “sure, babe!”. Once I sent out invitations and learned we were going to have ten children under the age of five coming, I realized we were going to have one wild princess party!

The first thing I knew had to happen was to create a table for all our petite royal guests. I grabbed a $2 door from the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and my husband drilled some legs on. Some post-Christmas clearance chairs, and whala! A table fit for a princess and her friends to eat cake! I also ordered this neat cardboard castle off Amazon so the kids would have something to color and play in.

The rest of the details fell into place beautifully, which made the party planning super easy.

I ordered a graze board from Grazing KC for the adult party guests, and it was a huge hit. Grazing KC incorporated our party theme, making this gorgeous girly graze board. I highly recommend, and will absolutely be using them again in the future myself.

The cake was provided by Sweet TAZ Cupcakery, and goodness gracious, did they deliver! This cake looked absolutely fabulous, and tasted even better. A few weeks before the party, I sent over a few photos of the type of different cake designs I had in mind. I put full trust into Sweet TAZ Cupcakery, and I couldn’t have been more happy with the result! She merged a few different of the designs into the most perfect princess cake! What’s more, it fed all the littles and the adults!

The best part of all is that Everly was the recipient of a princess party from Upon a Dream Parties! She received a 45 minute party, with the princess of her choosing. Of course, we chose the snow queen! Madeline is the owner of Upon a Dream Parties, and she personally was the snow queen at Everly’s party. From the moment she walked up our front steps, until she was out of sight, Madeline was 100% in character. For 45 minutes, she entertained our ten little guests with games, a parade, princess lessons, songs, a storytime and more. She ended her time with us by singing “happy birthday” to Everly, before making her exit. From top to bottom, Madeline had wonderful customer service and a fantastic performance. Everly hasn’t stopped talking about it since!

Ev’s 4th birthday was certainly one to remember. I think that will be the one and only time we invite that many little kids into our house at one time, but hey, can’t say we didn’t do it at least once! It was all worth it to create special memories for our special birthday girl.
