Here's Your Guide to Indoor Play and Story Time for all ages!

Many of our Macaroni Moms and other caregivers are constantly on the hunt for fun story times. Here’s a comprehensive list of storytimes for each of our local library systems. Click the name of the library to be taken to a calendar link, where you can find the dates and times for future storytimes!


Basehor Community Library

Storytots:

This storytime is focused on very young children and building literacy skills – listening to words, building vocabulary and using imagination. We read stories, dance, bounce and wiggle. Join us!

Ages 0-2


Storypals:

This storytime focuses on vocabulary development, shape recognition, rhyming, song singing, dancing, wordplay, and imagination.

Ages 0-5


Wiggle Workshop:

Welcome to the Wiggle Workshop, a 20-30 minute dance and movement time geared for littles and their parents or guardians.

Please bring a workout mat or blanket to dance on and enjoy this fun and engaging wiggle time together.

Parents are encouraged to participate in activities with children.

Toddler-5 yrs.


Bonner Springs City Library

Pajama Storytime:

All ages are welcome to wear your warm pajamas for some bedtime stories.

Ages: All


Hollywood & Friends Storytime:

Join Miss Jane and Hollywood, the storytime mascot, as they romp through the alphabet, learning a new letter each week.

Leavenworth Public Library

Sign With Baby:

We will be teaching you how to use ASL to engage with your baby. We will be singing songs, reading stories and learning simple sign language with baby. 

Ages 0-2


Storytime:

Interactive storytime and activities that build early literacy skills, such as vocabulary, listening, and social skills.

Ages: Preschool


Wiggle Workshop:

Interactive party for pre-K. Get moving and socializing with fun songs, dances, and activities.

Ages: Preschool


Lansing Community Library

Little Listeners

Little Listeners is a program created with your crawling baby in mind. Parents and their babies join Ms. Emily for knee bounce rhymes, finger plays, and short songs parents can continue to do at home.

Ages: Birth to about 18 months


Buddy Bookworms

Join us each Wednesday at Budding Bookworms! Join Ms. Emily in fun, interactive rhymes and stories. These songs and rhymes will encourage movement and creativity while helping to develop their literacy skills.

Ages: 18 months to 2 years


Move and Groove

You'll be moving and grooving with Ms. Emily! Songs, rhymes, and stories will get kids shaking their sillies out and help develop their concentration, social, and communication skills, and encourage imagination and creativity.

Ages 2-5


Kansas City Kansas Public Library

Pajama Storytime

An evening story time where pajamas are encouraged but not required. Grab your blanket, and stuffed animal, and join us for bedtime stories, songs, activities, and loads of fun. This program is for children ages 3 to 6 years. No registration is required

Baby Storytime

Baby Storytime serves as your child’s first introduction to a storytime setting.  We focus on the interaction between baby and their caregiver with songs, books, bonding activities, and finger plays.

Ages: 0 to 2 with a caregiver


Wednesday Wiggles - Storytime

Join us for stories, songs, and playtime featuring active play and sensory activities. Perfect for preschoolers, but babies and toddlers are welcome, too!


Preschool Storytime

Engaging stories, songs, crafts, and activities for children to learn through play. This week's theme is pumpkins!.

Ages: 3-5


Tonganoxie Public Library

Story Time:

Join us for stories, crafts, and fun for younger children! Ms. Nicole will lead themed storytimes on Friday mornings.

Ages: 3-6


Toddler Time:

Tuesday morning toddler-oriented storytimes twice a month! 1st and 3rd Tuesdays.

Ages: 12 months-3 years
