  • Grand Prize: $50 and the winning poster will be painted on a sign outside our museum
  • 3 First Prizes: $25 winner in each group; Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6

America’s Farmers Feed the World POSTER CONTEST

DEADLINE: JUNE 1, 2020

We’re celebrating our 60th anniversary and the contributions of American agriculture to the world.

Grand Prize: $50 and poster painted on a sign at our museum

3 First Prizes: $25 winner in each group; Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6

9 Honorable Mentions: $10, 3 winners in each group

Winning posters will also be displayed in our museum and on our website.

When the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame was federally chartered in 1960, an American farmer produced enough food to feed 26 people. Today, the average U.S. farmer feeds 155 people.

  • Today’s farmer grows twice as much food as his parents did, using less land, energy, water and lower emissions.
  • Agriculture provides 24 million U.S. jobs in many STEM industries (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
  • To keep up with projected population growth, more food will need to be produced in the next 50 years than in the past 10,000 years combined.
